     Monte D. Fox Sr., 55 passed away Monday, October 26, 2015 in Great Falls, MT of natural causes. Monte was born on September 3, 1960 at Fort Belknap Agency to Sherwin Big Leggins Sr. & Mary Margaret (Fox) Big Leggins. He was later legally adopted by his maternal grandmother, Ella (Bradley) Fox. Monte’s greatest dream was to run cattle and a horse ranch like his great grandparents George & Belknap Fox. Monte was an avid basketball player for Hays/Lodgepole Thunderbirds. He was All-Conference and All-State during 1975/78. He worked various jobs for Fort Belknap Indian Community. He liked to visit with family, friends and elders of the community and wanted to help his family members in any way he could. Monte also loved to rope and ride horses when he could. Monte loved to be around the Rodeo scenes .He loved all of his children and grandchildren very much. He also loved to listen to his grandson Isaiah Fox’s guitar music and singing, he was very proud of what Isaiah could do.
      Monte has three children with Tina (Birdtail) WarBonnett: Monte “Swish” (Liz) Fox Jr. & Ashley Fox both of Hays, MT and Darnell “Pokey” Fox, who passed away in January 2012. Who all gave him numerous grandchildren.
      Monte was preceded in death by his parents Sherwin BigLeggins Sr., Mary Margaret (Fox) Big Leggins and adopted mother Ella (Bradley) Fox and his son Darnell “Pokey” Fox.
     Surviving siblings are: Annette Big Leggins, of Three Buttes, Wanda (Daniel) Raining Bird, Ft. Belknap Agency, Tracy Big Leggins, Hays, MT, Georgia (Brent) C’Hair, Arapahoe, WY and Nicole (Cole) Henderson, Hays, MT, Aaron Big Leggins, Pendleton, OR, Darryl Big Leggins, Hays, MT, Shawn (Annie) Big Leggins, Ft. Belknap Agency, Sherwin Big Leggins Jr., David Big Leggins both of Frazer, MT, Dewayne Big Leggins, Dwight Big Leggins, both of Wolf Point, MT, Adopted sister Shirley White of Hays. Including all of his Grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
