Madge Emma Carter Johnson passed from this mortal life on June 15th, 2016 in Shelby, Montana. She was born April 26, 1926 in Warren, Oregon. She was the 4th child of Riley Chesley Carter and Erma May Walker Carter. She spent her growing up years in Oregon and St. Anthony and Ashton, Idaho, where she loved her "Tetons" and the Warm River area. In April of 1944, she came up to Harlem with her Aunt Myrtle Egbert for a visit and met the love of her life, Neal Anthony Johnson. They were sealed for time and eternity on October 11, 1944 in the Cardston, Alberta Temple. They were blessed with 8 children,6 sons, and 2 daughters. They lived at Harlem, where they farmed for 35 years, giving us a good upbringing on the farm. They sold the farm in 1978 and owned and operated Johnsons Meat Cutting for the next 8 years, until it burned. She enjoyed reading, visiting, traveling, baking, camping, and spoiling her Grandkids. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served faithfully in many capacities. A highlight of her life was serving a mission with dad to the Iowa Des Moines Mission in 1986-1987. How she loved it! She was preceded in death by her husband Neal, 2 infant sons, Steven and Loy, her parents, 1 sister, and 3 brothers. She is survived by sons Larry (Vala), Kermit (Yoyo) of Harlem, Mt., Wayne (Jeanne) of Superior, Mt., Alex (Karen) of Brigham City, Utah, Daughters Diana (Randy) Anderson of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Maloni Iverson of Shelby,Mt., son-in-law Randy Iverson, with whom she shared a special bond and enjoyment, 21 adored and spoiled grandchildren, and 24 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
