Beulah Skoyen

Beulah Skoyen
Born: Feb 04, 1924
Died: Oct 30, 2016

Beulah Maxine (Miller) Skoyen, passed away October 30, 2016, at Sweet Memorial Nursing Home with her family by her side.  She was 92.  Beulah was born February 4, 1924, in Black Coulee, Montana (south of Malta, Montana) to Paul and Mabel (Walden) Miller.  She was the second oldest of five children.  Her family eventually settled in the Chinook area where Beulah graduated high school in 1942.  After graduating high school, Beulah waitressed at The Grille restaurant in Chinook where she worked until marrying Albert (Bud) M. Skoyen on March 15, 1944.  Together they have three children, Connie May, Marlys Ann, and Duane Maurice.  Beulah and Bud worked together at the Chinook Sugar Beet Factory until moving to Charles Kramer’s (currently Buck) place where Bud was employed as a farm hand.  They lived and worked there for several years until moving to Great Falls in 1952.  In 1956, they relocated back to the family farm, north of Chinook.  Upon moving back to Chinook, Beulah worked as a cook at the Tastee Bite Café for several years until eventually becoming a full time farm wife and hired hand.  Beulah and Bud remained together on the family farm until Bud passed way in 1999.  Beulah continued to live on the farm until she moved into the Sweet Memorial Nursing Home in 2009.  Beulah enjoyed her time spent at the nursing home.  She stayed very active and was always ready to visit with anyone who stopped by to help her with one of her many puzzles.  She loved her puzzles and did not let anyone take them apart after they were done.  They had to be framed!  Beulah gave most of her puzzles away as gifts.  She wanted her family to have most of them.  During her life, she was an active member of the American Lutheran Church.  She always volunteered her time and furnished many meals for funerals and other church functions.  The smell of fresh-baked bread and donuts will always remind Beulah’s family of her.  She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Bud, son-in-law Larry Stanley, grand-daughter Jamie Stanley, and her brother Paul.  She is survived by her three children, Connie Stanley, Marlys (Leroy) Clendenen, and Duane (Jody) Skoyen, nine grandchildren, and fifteen great-grandchildren.  She is also survived by her two sisters Francis Ewing and Shirley Linabary, her brother Lawrence (Sheri) Miller, and numerous nieces and nephews.  Memorials can be sent to American Lutheran Church or Sweet Memorial Nursing Home in Chinook.  Arrangements have been entrusted with Edwards Funeral Home of Chinook.
