Timothy Martin Solem died of complications from Multiple Sclerosis, at his home in Missoula, MT, October 17, 2014. A vigil will be held Friday, October 24, 2014 at 7:00 pm at the St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church in Chinook. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 25, 2014 at 11:00 am at the St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church in Chinook. Arrangements have been made with Edwards Funeral Home of Chinook. 
Tim was born December 11, 1963 in Missoula, MT to William M. and Ellen (Gallus) Solem. At the age of four, he moved to Chinook with his parents and his sister Liz Ann. He attended the Meadowlark Grade School and Chinook High School. He was involved in AAU wrestling, swim team and high school football & basketball. He worked for Wes Knight Construction in Chinook and Oxnard, CA learning the carpentry business.
In 1994, he returned to Missoula, MT and worked for Lindley Cabinets, where he met the love his life, Laura Sarmiento, and her young son, Gus. Tim & Laura were married August 5, 2000 and raised Gus to adulthood before divorcing in 2011.
Tim enjoyed golfing, riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, coaching pee-wee wresting and U of M Grizzly football games. He operated his own cabinet installation business as the “Cabinet Guy” for several years, before being diagnosed with MS.
He became active in the Missoula MS Group and was proud to earn a T-shirt in each of the five years he participated in the “Walk for MS” fundraisers.
Tim is survived by his parents, William & Ellen Solem of Chinook, MT, his sisters, Liz Lybeck (Mohammed Boutkarit), and Eloise (Mike) Jergeson, both of Missoula, brother Ted (Heather) Solem, of Spokane, WA, niece Whitney (Patrick) Wicks of Chester, and their children, Lane Wicks and Hadley Wicks, nephews, Jordon Lybeck, Hank Jergeson, and Will Jergeson all of Missoula, ex-wife Laura & stepson Gus, numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Milt and I were so sorry to hear of the loss of your son, Tim. We also lost our oldest son, Dino, who died at age 13 in a skiing accident. It's the saddest thing that can happen to a parent, but somehow we muddled through and life is good. We hope the same for you.
