Leonard A. Pronto, 82, of Harlem, passed away October 29, 2014 at Northern Montana Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Services will be on Saturday, November 1, 2014 at 2:00 pm at the St. Thomas Catholic Church in Harlem. Reception will be held at VFW Hall in Harlem immediately following the burial at Harlem Cemetery. Arrangements have been made with Edwards Funeral Home in Chinook.
Leonard was born in Dodson, MT on August 4, 1932 to Joe and Elizabeth Pronto along with five sisters and three brothers. He was well known for his hard work to support his family. He enjoyed carpentry and construction the most. He was extremely involved with his family and each one of his grandchildren. Leonard enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. Leonard was a great mentor to each one of his grandkids by taking them hunting and fishing. He especially enjoyed his time at the Missouri Breaks with family and friends. Leonard loved to dance, play horse shoes, and was an excellent gardener. He is very well known for making his "hot" salsa.
Leonard is survived by his wife Beatrice Pronto, four sons, two daughters, and one step daughter: John (Pattie) Gilbert of Winston, Leonard Jr. (Lisa) Pronto of Billings, Gary (Sherri) Pronto of Harlem, Gene (Samar) Pronto of Wolf Point, Lenora (George) Greetham of Harlem, Karen Pronto of Chinook, and Linda Moreno of Havre. He is also survived by five sisters and numerous grandkids and great grandkids.
Leonard is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one step daughter Ruby.
