Lorraine was born June 10, 1924 in Harlem, MT to Leo and Elizabeth Cichosz. She attended school in Hogeland. She moved to Great Falls, MT to work while living with her Aunt Stella and her husband. She found she did not like the big city life and returned to Hogeland to work at the local grocery store. She married Frank Kiedrowski July 31, 1945 at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Hogeland, MT. They made their home on the family farm north of Hogeland. They were blessed with 7 children.
Lorraine was a wonderful mother and homemaker. She promoted family values, having big dinners, inviting family and neighbors. She became involved in the community and church. She wanted her children to have a Catholic education. Lorraine and Frank would move their family to Havre during the winter months for that education. Lorraine had many hobbies and interests: Knitting and crocheting center pieces and Afghans for her children and grandchildren. She did ceramics and pottery. Loved to dance, joining a square dancing group in the winter months in Havre. Attended and supported her children in their activities and sporting events. Belonged to the 6th Street Birthday Club and continued to attend even after they moved back to the family farm permanently. She was active in the Hogeland Happy Housewives Club. She was competitive at playing cards. When Frank took up golf, she did too. She traveled with her husband to horseshoe tournaments he entered and met many new friends. If hard times came, she would pack up the camper and take the family camping, always being that calming force in the home. Lorraine and Frank traveled, going to Hawaii, took a couple cruises, and visited a sister and her family in Connecticut.
In 1996, Lorraine and frank started wintering in St. George, UT and would return to Great Falls, MT for the summers. In 2004, they began staying in Great Falls year round until June of 2011 when they moved to Kirkland, WA.
With 24 years between her first child and last Lorraine was very young at heart and active in her children and grandchildren’s lives. She never looked her age. She will be deeply missed by all the lives she has touched.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Frank; Brothers Leon, Tom, Bob, and Joe Cichosz.
