Hilda Dorothy Weaver

Hilda Dorothy Weaver
Born: Jun 30, 1925
Died: Dec 09, 2014

Hilda Dorothy (Schumacher) Weaver, age 89, peacefully passed away December 9, 2014, at Sweet Memorial Nursing Home due to natural causes. Her daughters and Leta, a nurse who was a special friend were at her side.  Memorial services will be held Saturday, December 20, 2014 at 11:00 am at the St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church in Chinook. Arrangements have been made with Edwards Funeral Home of Chinook.
Hilda was born June 30, 1925 in Ward County near Kenmare, ND.  She was the fourth of ten children born to Frank and Marie (Hoffman) Schumacher.  She attended schools in the Kenmare area including St. Agnes Catholic School.  After High School she worked as a telephone operator until she married Alfred C. Weaver on Sep. 27, 1947.  They settled in Norma, ND and during that time had two daughters. Then her husband went to work in the oil fields and they moved many times.  Mostly to different areas in ND, WY, and MT; also once in NE and CO.  Hilda worked as a maid, waitress, and cook, but mostly as a CNA in hospitals in Sidney, MT, Hardin, MT, Havre, MT, and here in Chinook at the SMNH.  They then lived in Oregon for a short time, until her husband passed away in 1974.  She then came back to MT to help with her grandchildren and eventually her great-grandson, Noah.  She was a great seamstress, sewing clothes for her girls and even matching dresses for their dolls, and also wedding dresses, for a daughter and both of her granddaughters.  She also liked to embroidery, knit and crochet. She knitted a sweater for each of her grandchildren and for three of her great-grandchildren.  But her greatest passion was her Catholic faith and her love of God.  Whenever they moved she always introduced herself to the local priest and became involved in the parish.  Even when they were traveling, she always made sure her family got to mass on Sunday.
Hilda was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sisters Agnes Schumacher (infant), Margaret Olson, Dorothy Hanrahan and Mary Therese Russell; brothers, Joe and Lawrence Schumacher.  She is survived by her daughters Colleen Anderson of Chinook, MT and Claudette Anderson of Great Falls, MT; son-in law James Anderson of Sidney, MT; grandchildren Robert (Carla) Anderson of Ft. Collins, CO, Aaron J. (Melissa) Anderson of Chinook, MT, Olinda (Pat) Lannoye of Lambert, MT, Alfred Anderson of Sidney, MT, and Colette (Derek) Paris of Tucsonm, AZ; great-grandchildren Dominic, Makayla, Matthew, Courtney, Noah, Anderson, Mekayla, Molly, Alex, Aaron M., and Ainsley; brothers Frank Schumacher of Kalispell, MT, Jim and Luke Schumacher both of Kenmare, ND; and many nieces and nephews.
